HAPPY...says who?
Happiness by definition is either a) the state of being happy or b) an experience that makes you happy.
I am often asked, "Are you happy"? Happiness has always been this...thing that everyone wants to obtain. Being happy has a way of elevating you to another level. Who wouldn't want to be happy? When I ask people if they are happy, what I am waiting for in their response is a suggestion that their happiness (or lack of) is conditioned upon someone or something else. In relationships, the problem arises when your husband, wife or partner is or is not doing whatever it takes to put a smile on your face. At work, it's when your coworkers, boss or customers aren't acting the way you think they should to get the job done. It has been my experience that living life in the hopes that you can make others happy or that your actions are pleasing to them can lead to unfavorable outcomes. Thre will always be someone who disapproves of something you have done. In the end, my question to you would be...is it pleasing to the one that matters the most?
